One of the best ways to make and keep ourselves happy is to keep doing things that are good for our health, well-being, and the way we want to live.
At least 40% of what we do is because of habits, not because we make a conscious choice to do it. We’re almost always on autopilot.
Given this, it’s in our best interest to build a lot of good habits on purpose so that our unconscious actions work in our favor and get us where we want to be.
Some habits have more of an effect on how happy and healthy we are than others.
There are basic things we do that have a big impact on many parts of our bodies, minds, and lives.
These things can even have an effect on other habits and things we do. For example, our bodies and minds work better when we get more sleep.
We also have more energy and focus to reach our goals, are less likely to eat too much, and are more likely to be active.
13 Easy Habits For Happiness and Success In Your Daily Life
1- Reflect by writing in a journal
Reflection is a good thing to do because it helps us become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, and actions and starts to show us where we can make changes to make ourselves happier.
The first step is to give yourself time and space to check in with yourself and get used to being aware of how you feel and what you’re doing right now.
Writing or keeping a journal is a great way to think about yourself and can help you find and understand different parts of yourself.
It helps you figure out what you’re thinking and feeling, get clear on them, and understand them.
If you don’t know what to write, these journaling prompts can help you start thinking and writing.

2- Follow a routine in the morning
Before work and other responsibilities start, the morning is often the time we can plan and be in charge of the most.
Start your day off right by making a morning routine that includes energizing activities like exercise, time spent outside, meditation, and setting goals, as well as reflective activities like journaling, gratitude, and prayer.
This is also a good time to make time for things you enjoy, like playing an instrument, writing, learning a new skill, or working on an art project.

3- “Habit stacking” is a way to make good habits stick.
This is one of my favorite tips for making it in life.
When people have trouble meeting their goals, it’s often because they can’t stick to the habits they want to start.
When you’re busy as hell, it can feel like too much to add a small goal like meditating for 5 minutes a day, doing 10 pushups, reading 15 pages of a book, or taking 20 minutes to plan your day’s schedule.
Habit stacking is a way to trick your brain into being more productive.
To stack habits, you put together all the small habits you want to do every day. So, they won’t be a bunch of small habits, but one big one.
The key is to start with just one or two new habits and then add more to your routine once it has become a solid part of your day.

4- Make plans.
In the modern, fast-paced world we live in now, many people are too busy to plan ahead.
But if you plan and think about your days, you will not only make the most of your time, but you will also set yourself up for real success and happiness.
Set clear, actionable goals for yourself, and you’ll have a better chance of finding the success and happiness you’re looking for.

5- Organize things.
We feel better when we pick up, keep things in order, and even just make the bed.
It helps us get ready for guests, be more productive, get a better night’s sleep, and even get along better with our spouse and children.
It’s probably not realistic to think that you can clean your house from ceiling to floor in two hours every day.
And make sure to vacuum and dust every day. It’s not going to happen.
But just sweeping the house, picking up things that are lying around, cleaning up spills as they happen, and rinsing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher can make a huge difference.
First and foremost? It keeps the mess from getting worse, so we don’t lash out at our husbands or kids or get mad at ourselves.
When you first start getting into this habit, try setting a timer.
Before you go to bed or even before you sit down to watch TV at night, take 15 minutes to walk around your house.
Pick up things, put cushions back in place, and clean the counters.
Make it a habit to wash your dishes after you eat and to make your bed as soon as you wake up. Your day and mood will get better.

6- Prepare the Night Before
Preparing before bed helps us start the day early.
Even when isolated, set out your clothing for tomorrow.
Make breakfast, lunch, and dinner the night before. What takes 10 to 15 minutes before bed takes 20 to 30 in the morning and the day’s pandemonium.
You would also make sure backpacks were ready, keys were on the counter, and everything was ready for tomorrow.
You may avoid morning mishaps by being proactive and prepared. (Lost keys may ruin the morning and schedule!)
7- Trust your abilities
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, as well as varying levels of creativity.
People who are truly happy and successful know their weaknesses and fully believe in their strengths.
This gives them a chance to get help and advice when they need it and give it when they can.
Every day, do what needs to be done with confidence and trust in yourself and your skills. You can set up habits that push you toward success and happiness if you believe in yourself and have confidence.

8- Treat other people with kindness.
Up to 99% of the people you see outside are people you don’t know.
But most of these strangers are good and kind.
Show them love, care, and kindness whenever you can.
Saying “hello” to the person you’re riding the elevator with can make their day.
Helping that old lady cross that busy street is the right thing to do.
When you do nice things every day, not only do you make new friends, but you also make your own day better.

9 – Walk 30 minutes a day
If you can’t MAKE the time to go for a daily walk, you don’t have control over your life.
I walk even if it wasn’t good for my health. Walking is a healthy way to keep the body moving.
But I walk every day because it makes our lives less boring.
We can’t deny that life is what we expect it to be. There’s nothing wrong with that.
When you go outside, though, you have to join the rest of the world.
It makes the senses better. You can go on a trip alone or with other people. You can have a conversation with someone. Or you can just look around and enjoy the view.
10 – Drink water in the morning.
Did you know that you lose a little bit of water while you sleep?
When you wake up, you should drink water right away to rehydrate your body.
Getting enough water every day helps keep your body temperature stable and gives you nutrients.
Also, staying hydrated helps you feel better and sleep better.
What a mess water can make, huh? Try to drink a glass of water first thing in the morning to help your health.
To make this a daily habit, try the following:
Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to drink water.
Leave a glass of water on the table next to your bed so you can drink it when you wake up.
Bring a full bottle of water with you.
11 – Less Phone Use in the Morning
What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
You pull out your phone.
We can do a lot of good things in the morning, but checking our phones is not one of them.
Even though these devices are tempting and it’s easy to roll over in bed, grab your phone, and start scrolling, we have to fight this urge.
Our happiness and how well we work are at stake.
Looking at your phone first thing in the morning is a great way to get your body to release stress hormones, fill your mind with worry and bad thoughts, and get ready for a day of doing nothing and just consuming.
We also waste what I think is the most important hour of the day.
If you protect this hour and don’t answer your phone, you’ll free up a lot of time and mental energy. Now is the best time to start doing new things every day.
Spend the first hour of every day doing something positive and staying away from anything bad.

12 – Put your goals on paper.
It turns out that to-do lists have a lot of sneaky power over our minds.
People can use this kind of list to keep track of how far along they are in accomplishing short-term goals or daily tasks that need to be done.
It’s nice to know that you’re on track and making progress toward your long-term goals. Writing them down can help you stay on track and motivated when things get tough.
Measure success by how happy you are instead of how much money you have.
Employees today care more about their job satisfaction, benefits, and being able to make decisions at work than about how much money they make.
If you think of success in terms of pounds and pence or dollars and cents, you’ll always be looking for more money and never feel truly happy.
Make sure you have a clear picture of what success means to you and that you know exactly what it means to you.

13 – Use the self-control you already have to get better at it.
Stanford University’s Marshmallow Experiment found that a person’s ability to develop self-control and discipline has a much bigger effect on their ability to grow and succeed than their talent or intelligence.
If you don’t have a reason to keep going, it’s easy to just give up.
Make plans for yourself and force yourself to work toward achieving those plans. Don’t let past mistakes stop you from trying again.
